maybe i shouldn't publish a picture of myself online because it might come off weird, but i found this one on my camera amongst 8 trillion other pictures and just died laughing. i look so shocked. or like i'm trying to be mysterious or something. hahahaha
enjoy the laughs, friends...

usually, the peacocks don't sit on our deck in the morning. instead, they honk and scream from the trees in the next neighborhood. they completely crack me up. although, i have to admit i feel sorry for the people over in that neighborhood since the peacocks tend to congregate on certain lawns. can you imagine going out to work and there are 20 peacocks sitting on your lawn, porch, roof, and car?
i've seen it. and it's a little disturbing.

our training runs for the long beach marathon are getting ridiculously long. 22 miles...24 miles...pretty soon we'll be doing the full 26. but so far, it has been really good. i love running with this group because it makes the time go by so much faster. the long miles do something to your head (not to mention your body) so it's good to get outside of your head and talk to someone for even a little while.
it's strange, but even music doesn't help me as much as it should when i'm out running for 4 hours.
but it will be worth it, right?! :) :)
today when i was stretching, i was reaching for my toes and the above and below shots are what i saw. i love the world upside down. :) remember lying on the couch and looking at the ceiling and pretending it was the floor? or was that just my sisters and i? hehe
these pictures just scream southern california. haha (they're at long beach harbor by the queen mary, if anyone is curious.)

i am so incredibly happy right now. this afternoon i had to drive across town in the dreaded traffic to return some library books to the goethe institute (which is awesome by the way if you're trying to learn german as it is a german library.) but i digress. surprisingly, i made the trip there and back in 2 hours and 15 minutes!!! this is quite a miracle as i thought i would be getting home 5 hours later since it is a holiday weekend. so, as a reward for all that extra time on my hands, i went to the fabric store and bought a bunch of random and happy fabric. i don't even really know how to sew, but i've been so inspired to make a pouch or bag or SOMETHING by all of you crafty people on the web, so i made my very first pouch tonight...
oh, and i forgot to post my feeble attempt at thrifting. little by little, right? this is a skirt that will soon be transformed into something i'm sure.
wow...it's the simple things, isn't it? :)
