mmmm, thanksgiving. it was wonderful this year. i went out to idaho to my sister and husband's new place...so beauteeeful! mom and dad were there also and we spent the weekend eating lots of turkey (and turkey soup and turkey sandwiches) and mountains of delicious fudge. mmm
it was terrifically cold so i only managed one half-frozen run the whole trip. must get back into that since that half-marathon and the l.a. marathon will sneak up before i know it!
the best part (or one of the best parts) of being there was finishing up baby emma's blanket (and a hat to match)! it is sooo precious and i will post a picture as soon as i can find my digital camera (which has gone AWOL since i moved a couple weeks ago.) my sis and mom also joined in the knitting madness--jo was whipping out scarves like a crazy woman (and they're gorgeous!) and mom was brave and jumped into making a poncho as her first project. wow, mom. i'm impressed.
so, now i'm back home with a couple of onesies to embroider for emma and a ton of leftover yarn from the blanket which is being transformed into a teeny poncho. haha i'm gonna line the edges with light pink fur so it will be extra girlie. :)
in other knitting news, i found the BEST ruffle scarf pattern in knit 1 (magazine) which i'm gonna knit up for my other sis. (i'll post a pic of that too...again as soon as the camera is discovered...)
i love this time of year! :)

hmm, maybe the saying, "third time's a charm" is actually true. i started my third attempt at a baby blanket this last sunday after i realized i need to get crackin' (my sister's baby is due in february and judging from how long it took the last two times to get nowhere...) anyway, after much hemming and hawing, i finally decided on the yarn and got to work. and wow, it is really turning out to be sooo cute! i'm doing the entire thing in seedstitch and 'cause I wanted to make sure I would finish the thing, I made it really tiny. a "car-seat blanket" is what i'm dubbing it. hehe but seriously, so far i'm kind of in shock. i think i was created for seedstitch. it is the easiest thing ever. i love you, seedstitch.
so that's the joy in my world for today.
that, and it is in the 80s outside today. mmm, i love you, california. :)
