why altavista babelfish is bogus
this morning, in a lazy attempt to translate a song that's on my german kid's cd, i typed in the lyrics to babelfish.
granted, i pretty much know what the song is saying--spring is coming again, the flowers are blooming and popping their heads out the snow, etc.--but i didn't know some of the words and verb forms, sooooo...i typed it all into babelfish. what i got made me laugh so hard i had to post it here. it sounds like this psycho weird song. scary. i also like how if babelfish doesn't know a word, it just leaves it as the German word...
here it is:
Hokuspokus already puts the crocus its nose to the light.
Also Haaschen steckt its Naaschen impudently out from its building.
The Meise built itself a new nest quietly and quietly.
Also the queue for a long time already looks forward to its new skin.
And the sun radiates fully Wonne, because the winter is past.
Struck wants everything had to give itself to live color splendour from snow and ice closes in such a way the life circle.
I especially like how the queue has been looking forward to its new skin for a long time. hahahaha
happy 4th!

GERMANY 3 : 0 ECUADOR
it's world cup time! i'll be honest here. most of the time i'm not much of a sports person. but with the world cup in germany this year, well, err, suddenly i've found myself flipping on the teli every morning to see the latest stats. ah well, this too shall pass. haha
the trip home (a month ago!) was wonderful...emma definitely loved her onesies and i was glad i had bought the 6-9 month size 'cause that kid is long! Three month old clothes didn't quite cut it with her. it was so amazing to hold her and hang out with her...and amazing to see how much she has grown. one afternoon, the sisters and emma and mom and dad went out on a walk and it was so sweet. i'm so thankful for my family! :)
this last month has been crazy with lots of things going on but i'm trying to get back to doing some projects. i see the collages hanging on my walls at home and it just kills me. got. to. do. more...:)
in the meantime, i have a week and a half before i start up a crash course in german (eek!!!) and one more day left of my 20s!!!! crazy!
off for now...

it's not until i drive up to redding that i remember how very long it takes to get there. (12 hours, baby) ;) i still love it, but wow, California is soooo huge and for all those who think it is completely packed like L.A., let me kindly tell you that most of it is EMPTY.

after a couple hours in the central valley, i told nae that it'd be a great idea to move half of l.a. there...you know, to make it more even. we'd have less traffic, they'd be able to build up brand new homes for cheap(er), everyone would win! and then she reminded me that the central valley is where all our agriculture is based.
man. i knew there was a catch.
