am thankful for love.
Learning to love...
And the whole messy
Process and journey and adventure
It is a beautiful thing.
p.s. thanks to Jessica at the Daily Drop Cap for the lovely "I" at the beginning of this post.

oh my. i just love Meg Hunt's illustrations! And I'm especially moved that she has little sketching journals for sale at etsy that are covered with drawings of dinosaurs. i loved dinosaurs as a kid even though they always came back to haunt me in my dreams. that wasn't so nice of them.

Alyssa really liked my picture of the rock wall from our girls' weekend in Scottsdale. This was on the side of a sushi restaurant--I just loved all the tactile textures and color.
I decided to change it up just a teeny tiny bit so she would like it even more. Renee says she points at the computer screen and says, "Rox!"
Love that kid.

(sandra junto rain print and erin-the-amazing-aunt's subway poster for her nephew)
Rain is a beautiful thing.
We needed the rain this week to wash all the city muck away...
to bring us crispy clean clouds and bright blue skies.
The mountains look fresh, the trees are glistening
and the flowers are bursting out of their skins to smile at us.

This flower fell--kerplunk!--next to us last night. It was so heavy it actually made a sound, unlike a leaf that would have quietly fluttered to the ground. I took a picture and it reminded me an octopus spreading out its tentacles and lying on the ocean floor.
I think these are some of my favorite trees in this area. The trees are covered with these large pink blooms and then they all fall off and are replaced by bright green leaves. This is what I call our perpetual spring in lalaland. Lovely...
