The Little Girls

One of my favorite memories from our wedding was these two little girls, my nieces Emma and Alyssa. They were troopers through a looooong day and practiced walking down the aisle all morning. Emma had practiced her smile for weeks and even showed it to me when I asked. This is right before they walked down the aisle. My aunt (who is uh-maaazing) is giving them their last instructions...their moms had just walked down before them.

Love
love
love
them.

It was such a magical day. More later.

Crazy Love

We've all been there, no?

(postcard from Border's bookstore)

Please Mister Weather Man

I love being outdoors and really wanted a garden wedding. How easy it would be to decorate! Everything would already be green! No purple pews to deal with or tulle down the aisles! But it, err, has been a little more difficult than I realized. You know how many public parks will not allow amplified sound? (We're not talking a dj, we're talking the pastor being able to speak into a microphone) The restrictions were surprising--no decorations, no music, no this and no that...goodness!

We finally did find a place, and we're excited about it. Yes, there are still some glitches like having to set everything up and tear everything down the day of, but we'll survive. (thanks to family and friends--thank you thank you thank you)

Now we just have to pray for good weather.

10 days

In ten days I'll be leaving my teeny cottage for a new adventure. Its been a nice place to live for the last few months...a much needed place of home and respite.

However, moving from it will be completely okay by me, considering...

Cupcakes!

Today I'm ordering our cupcakes from Lark. They have such scrumptious cupcakes--not those huge, dense things with the thick squared off frosting, but the kind that you'd make for yourself if you had the time. ;) I like how you can eat one and not feel like you're slipping into a sugar coma afterwards...they're the perfect size.
